The library is not currently hiring any new staff positions because of significant budgetary shortfalls resulting from diminished long-term state funding since the great recession in 2008, as well as a collaspe in dedicated millage from local commercial and industrial tax assessments since the 2019 countywide property tax reassessment was put into effect.
