The library is closed today because of the big snow we just had. It's not the worst snow I've ever seen or had to dig out from, but it's the biggest snow we've had in a few years. Everyone is cleaning up and the roads are still being treated. I just saw the Coolbaugh Township DPW plow go by on my street, so I'm grateful for that. I'm also grateful because the DPW plow and treat the library's parking lot so it's always in good condition.
The library follows the Pocono Mountain School District when we close. You can find closure information on network TV, and on their website PMSD.org. We also close when there is a winter weather warning from the National Weather Service, or for ice storms.
When the library closes there are no fines on anything because PMPL is officially a Fine Free Library.
Please take time to visit our online collections we have on our website. My favorite is Zinio for all the magazines I can possibly want to read, and Hoopla that has an astounding collection of eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming TV, music and movies, including a great selection of Holiday and Christmas movies!
Staff will be available tomorrow, and you can call and get help with your printing, faxing, placing holds, scheduling curbside pickups and registering for library cards over the phone. Anyone who doesn't already have a library card can get an "internet only" library barcode number so you can use our Ebooks, Research and Databases, and other online collections. Don't forget that we regularly have Zoom programs, Youtube content, and we can also get you a Go Bag with free activities and crafts for kids. Just ask, and we'll see how we can help! Stay safe and warm! Ann
